1. Audience
Scan the QR code and follow the speaker on your phone in your own language. No app, no sign-in, no headset.
Join
- Scan the QR code on the big screen, your badge or the seat card, or open the link you were sent.
- Choose your language. Captions start about two seconds after each sentence.
Read or listen
- Read the captions as they arrive. Older lines scroll up.
- Press Listen to hear an AI voice in your language. Headphones are best. Press Stop this line to skip the current line.
- Change language at any time.
Options (the ⋯ menu)
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Auto play voice | Plays each new line out loud without pressing Listen |
| Translation only | Hides the original line and shows just your language |
| Text size | Makes the captions larger or smaller |
| Download transcript | Saves the whole talk as text, when the organiser allows it |
| As spoken (mixed) | On mixed-language talks, shows each line exactly as it was said |
After the session
- Get the summary in your language, or Email me the summary. Your email is deleted once it is sent.
- Open the Slides, if the organiser shares them.
Summary, transcript and slides only appear when the organiser turns them on for that stage.
2. Organiser
Set up your event at app.aideatelab.com in about five minutes, share the QR code, and start the session when the speaker begins. You only pay for live time.
- Go to app.aideatelab.com, enter your name, company (optional) and work email, then press Send code.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your email (valid 15 minutes) and choose a password of at least 10 characters.
- Forgot password works the same way, with an emailed code.
Buy hours
Hours only count while a stage is live, and they never expire. More guests or more languages don’t cost extra. Buy them from Hours in the account menu (bottom left).
| Pack | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | US$149 |
| 2 hours | US$249 |
| 4 hours | US$399 |
| 8 hours | US$599 |
More than 8 hours: US$69 an hour from 9 to 24, US$59 from 25 to 49 and US$49 from 50 to 100. See pricing.
Set up the event
- Press New event and add the name, date and venue.
- Press New stage for each room or session. Basics: stage name, the speaker’s language (up to 2 more for mixed-language talks) and an optional speaker name for the big screen. Languages: up to 6 audience languages. Audience options: AI voices and instant translation are on by default; you can also turn on transcript download, a summary after the session and slides to share (PDF, PowerPoint or Keynote, up to 50 MB).
- Add Hot words: names, brands and terms your speakers will use, so they come out right.
- Open Share to download the QR code or copy the audience link.
Branding and artwork
- Open the event and choose Branding: upload your logo, pick your colour, choose a dark or light page and add a welcome line, translated for each stage.
- On each stage, Artwork gives you an A4 poster, a 16:9 slide and a square post with your logo and QR code, ready to print or send to your designer.
Bring your team
Press Invite on the event to add your AV engineer or a colleague. They can edit its stages and run sessions with your hours, but can’t create or delete stages or invite others. Manage them on the event’s Team page.
Run the session
- Do a 2-minute test the day before: start the stage, scan the QR code with your own phone and talk into the mic.
- On the day, open the stage and press Start session. The console opens.
- Open Audio input and pick the microphone or the feed from your sound desk. A clean desk feed works much better than a laptop mic in the room.
- Press Start. The level meter moves and lines appear as the speaker talks.
- Press Pause during breaks, so hours are not used. Press it again to resume.
- Press End session when the talk is over.
In the console you can also:
- Turn Voice broadcast (AI voices for listeners) or Instant translation on or off.
- Turn on Share audio to translate a video or call playing in another tab or window. Works best in Chrome or Edge.
- Press Correct this line to fix a word the speech engine got wrong.
- Copy audience link, or press Add time if your hours run low.
